Workers' Compensation

Our focus on injury prevention and our return-to-work program help your employees receive expert care, while your business runs safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Short Term Disability

Some companies administer their own paid-time-off programs. However, they often do not have the expertise to evaluate the necessity for paid time off, or how long it should last, when an employee is facing a disabling condition. We will review, investigate, and adjudicate claims in an appropriate and professional manner. We can also provide recommendations for early return-to-work and strategies for reducing the incidence of claims.

Our disability claims specialists stay in regular contact with our customers' human resources departments to provide consistent communication and guidelines for employees. Plus, our state-of-art claims management system offers a comprehensive and user-friendly claims administration.

Leave of Absence

If you manage a leave-of-absence program as an employer, you've most likely struggled with the multitude of nuances and compliance issues. How can you tighten up your operation, ensure maximum productivity, and ensure your regulatory duties are being met? We can help you manage the administrative challenge of complying with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993 and state leaves.

The FMLA requires private-sector employers with 50 or more employees to provide up to 12 work weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave, within any 12-month period, to eligible employees for certain family and medical reasons. Employees may take leave intermittently, thereby reducing their normal weekly work schedule. Our programs are available both as part of our Absence Management or as a separate service.

Our Family and Medical Leave program helps reduce administrative burdens, improve employees' satisfaction, and reduce both the direct and indirect costs of employee FMLA absence.

  • We automate absence control policies, with the ability to administer different rules for employee groups (e.g., union, department, or location).
  • We track leave durations, including the 12-month period measured forward and "rolling" 12-month period measured backward.
  • We track improvements by automatic deduction and roll-off of incidents.
  • We administer and certify concurrent FMLA leaves with disability and workers' compensation.

In addition, our dedicated adjusters educate employees, answer their questions or concerns, and send reminders when documents are due. We process all aspects of employee FMLA absence through our in-house staff and technology system.

Medical Management

Medical management is the keystone of our Absence Management program. By helping employees get back to work quickly, the medical management team helps customers avoid the expense of temporary workers, increased overtime, additional training, and lapses in customer service.
